Collaboration with the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Global Mental Health and Psychiatry Caucus

Our collaboration with the APA Global Mental Health and Psychiatry Caucus began in May 2024 to foster knowledge exchange and promote the Ubuntu-driven approach in addressing mental health and psychosocial crises in Rwanda and beyond.

The Ubuntu approach was featured in the Global Mental Health & Psychiatry Review (Vol. 5 No. 2, Spring/Summer 2024, pp. 7-8). Building on this momentum, Ubuntu Center for Peace will present findings from its Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) at the American Psychiatric Association Annual Summit in Los Angeles in May 2025. The presentation will explore the theme: "African and Asian Traditional Healing Practices: Relevance to Contemporary TOTAL Health."
