Dr Jean Bosco Niyonzima
Co-founder and Executive Director
Dr Jean Bosco Niyonzima is the co-founder of and Executive Director for the Ubuntu Center for Peace, providing the team with leadership, strategic direction, and leading fundraising efforts and the strategic partnerships building and stewardships. He is also the President of the Executive Committee for the US Board of Directors. He has over 12 years of leadership and management experience in international development and humanitarian contexts, having worked in 7 African countries for different organizations including Save the Children International, which he served as the Global Clinical Governance Advisor based at the Head Quarter in London between December 2016 to March 2020.
Before joining SCI in London, he worked in challenging countries including South Sudan, Niger, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Liberia and Rwanda with different organizations including Partners In Health, Last Mile Health and International Medical Corps. He previously served on the Board of Directors of World Learning, a global organization dedicated to education and international development and Blenheim CDP, a UK-based organization providing services dealing with drugs abuse and alcohol.
Jean Bosco is a Rwandan Medical Doctor who graduated from the National University of Rwanda and holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and a diploma in the Psychosocial Foundations of Peacebuilding from SIT Graduate Institute, Brattleboro, Vermont State, US.
