Mujawimana Suzanne
Community Healing Assistant Supervisor, Ubuntu Center for Peace
Mujawimana Suzanne is a Community Healing Assistant Supervisor at Ubuntu Centre for Peace. She is a clinical psychologist with a strong passion for mental health and community healing. Her career began in education, where she spent 17 years as a teacher in Gatsibo District before transitioning to trauma counseling in 2011. For over a decade, she worked with AVEGA/FARG in Rulindo and Nyamagabe Districts, supporting genocide survivors and vulnerable communities through psychosocial care.
Suzanne has since served in various mental health roles, including as Health Advisor at ABAHIZI CBC and Mental Health Officer at Kirambo Health Center, where she provided direct clinical support and community-based interventions. She has completed extensive specialized training in Breath-Body-Mind (Level 1), PTSD, depression, anxiety, and GBV counseling, as well as psychotraumatology, behavioral therapy, emotional crisis management, and resilience-focused approaches.
Currently, Suzanne serves as a Community Healing Assistant Supervisor at Ubuntu Center for Peace in Kirehe District, where she channels her expertise into guiding healing circles, mentoring assistants, and empowering communities to rebuild resilience and sustain mental well-being.
